A HISTORICAL EMBRACE INTO THE GAZEBOS OF THE PAST

Ethnic Groups in Togetherness
People of courage and valor
Major festivals with pomp and show
Powerful ladies of immense insight
And one large country- radiating Unity in Diversity!

Mingles in the music of the Yamuna and Ganga, and hovers around the clouds of the Indian sea!

In the words of an eminent freedom fighter and an officer of the Indian Army, Captain Lakshmi Sehgal as she says-
Freedom comes in three forms. The first is political emancipation from the conqueror, the second is economic emancipation and the third is social emancipation. India has only achieved the first.
As we celebrate the day with full zeal and zest, it’s been an acknowledged fact to our attention that the occasion was once a distant dream of the past, a day dreamt by many before it led them to the funeral pyres. Hard to accomplish, easy to lose, it is the fruit of immeasurable sacrifices made by our courageous freedom fighters. The independent India shall always remain indebted to them.
Independence doesn’t mean freedom
It means cherishing democratic rights
Living freely in the human domain
Never ever forget our freedom knights!

The female leaders, to name a few:  Sarojini Naidu, Aruna Asif Ali, Usha Mehta, Dr. Annie Besant, Pritilata Waddedar, Begum Roquiya and the names go on, along with works of tremendous insight like Quit India by Ismat Chughtai- all this culminated in promoting the emancipation of Indian women and their participation in National politics.
This was the world Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru dreamt of, in his valuable speech- “When the world sleeps, India will wake to life and freedom.”
This brings light to the Rehabilitation of secularism, security, social justice and harmony, along with Educational enhancement. Although, we are fortunate to be breathing in the environment of political independence, but we are yet to discover the connotations of the term. We must remember though, that Independence day is not merely a Ritual to Rejoice the Lata and Rafi hits on the occasion. More than that, it’s a means to a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic Nation building as an end.
In the end, we must accept and improve upon the ill practices that ruin the heritage and integrity of our beloved Nation and we must work towards a better place on the globe. In a virtual mode of the life these days, we must look for ways and strategies to achieve the second and third form of freedom in the real sense.
Saare jahan se accha, Hindustan hamara
Ham bulbule’in hain iski, ye Gulista’an hamara!
